Report: U.S. Weapons Sales to Human Rights Abusing Governments PDF Print

In its FY2008 budget request, the administration has asked for Foreign Military Financing (FMF) funds for 21 countries with egregious human rights abuse records, as documented by the U.S. State Department.  The FMF program allows countries to purchase American-made military equipment and weapons.  The Peace Education Fund's report, "Inside the State Department's FY2008 Budget Request: An Analysis of U.S. Military Aid Appropriated to Human Rights Abusing Governments through the Foreign Military Financing Program (FMF)", provides a country by country analysis of the funding request for each government and its human rights record.
